Vermont-based artist Lutalo has released a pair of interconnected yet contrasting singles in ‘The Bed’ and ‘Broken Twin’. The first of the two tracks is a tender, folky cut that dives into the idea of education about American propaganda and warmongering. The second is a more swaggering, catchy track filled with big textures and anthemic melodies. “Everything in this universe is having a reaction or response to something or even nothingness,” explains Lutalo. “An even more simplified representation being the sine wave, that makes up all forms of atomic structures at different frequencies.” Lutalo will be bringing out their debut album, The Academy, on September 20th, 2024. -Dan Peeke
